Nice high ceiling, big windows, lots of plants hanging from the ceiling, old engine on a stand by the door, local artist photography on the walls.
High tables against the walls and a big long table down the center.
Quick friendly service.
We had a couple of lattes and they were quite excellent with good foam and crema, no bitterness and a nice chocolate taste and thick texture.
Maybe the best latte we have had. -

This coffee shop has quite a bit of space, it would be the perfect place to work and study! There were plenty of outlets around and plenty of seating availabile. The service was great, all of the cashiers and baristas are really nice. I had the cold brew coffee, which was really good. I would love to visit again when I'm around the area. You will need a key to use the restroom. Which are located out the side doors, second door to the left. Also keep in mind that their fall hours will be daily from 6am to 4:30pm.

I've been visiting Sellwood more regularly recently, and discovered Fairlane by doing a Yelp search. I was on the hunt for a sweet treat, with a local vibe and Fairlane fit the bill.
It was close to closing on my first visit in and the pastry counter was pretty empty (as it should be close to closing!!!) but I asked if they had anything sweet left, and the barista happily asked "what are your feelings about pie?"
Now I'm not sure, but she may in fact be a psychic, because pie is absolutely my most favorite dessert of all time ever in the history of life.
I said "yes please!" without knowing what type of pie, but it didn't matter, pie was happening. And I was not disappointed. It was a yummy berry pie with the flakiest crust, pair that with a nice cup of black coffee and there isn't anything better.
Can't wait till next time. -

My new favorite coffee spot in SE Portland. Only discovered this recently during a walk and realized its walking distance from home, which is a super big plus! The staff is friendly. I love the culture of the coffee shop (adventure driven and they feature such good photography by one of their baristas who is also a big adventurer!). The shop is a perfect place to work from. It's quiet, clean, and well-lit with huge windows and natural lighting. Each table has access to an outlet (USB friendly too, big plus). I had an iced vanilla latte that I was very impressed with. Definitely going to come back to try other brews and spend my Fridays here!
